To protect and improve the welfare and rights of the Inspecting ranks prodominantly within the MPS and promote their skills and development to enhance the efficiency of the MPS.

• To proactively engage with the service regarding "reforms and efficiencies" as it effects Inspecting ranks
• To achieve a better work/life balance for members and monitor  and enforce, as required,the application of the MPS 'On Call' policy.
• To ensure compliance with the Working Time Regulations. Encouraging members to properly record their hours and all of the MPS to utilise the CARM/Met duties system properly
• To constantly highlight the true extent of the "hidden" extra responsibility and workload within each Inspecting role.
• Build upon links with other Branch Boards and key opinion formers both internally & externally to progress the aims of the IBB

• To improve the training & development of our reps to enable them to best represent our members.
• We will endeavor to reach a position whereby every BOCU/OCU has an Inspectors federation rep including Reserve positions and that the IBB are fully represented in all the appropriate committees and sub-committees.
• To review all IBB policies to ensure the relevance and appropriateness of each.
