November 2015 issue of POLICE published

The November 2015 issue of Police, the Police Federation magazine, has been issued and is available on the web. (See link) This edition features 20th Police Bravery Awards,showcasing the ‘Bravest of the Brave’. Other articles look at the challenge to the 2015 police pension scheme, compulsory severance being put on ice by police chiefs, the impact of cuts to detectives and where are the relentless cuts to police services taking us.

Met Federation donates £5,000 to PC David Phillips Fund

The Metropolitan Police Federation is to donate £5,000 to the memorial fund in honour of Merseyside PC David Phillips. PC Phillips died in the early hours of Monday 5 October after being struck by a van while attempting to deploy a stinger device to puncture its wheels. He was taken to hospital, but died a short time later. A fund has since been set up in his name and has so far raised more than £200,000.
