LIFE INSURANCE
£130,000 payable on death from ANY cause.
BEST DOCTORS
Provides members with an independant and definative second medical opinion from oer 50,000 worldwide leading consultants giving unlimited access ensuring diagnosis and treatment are correct.
ACCIDENT INSURANCE
(payable for an injury not illness)
£130,000 payable for permanent total disablement for any occupation
£20,000 payable on loss of hearing in one ear
£25,000 payable on loss of, or use of, one limb and/or sight in one eye
£50,000 payable on loss of our use of both limbs and/or sight in both eyes and or loss of speech and or loss of hearing in both ears
£60 payable per overnight stay up to 7 nights when hospitalised Immediately following an accident
£27.50 per week, payable for up to 104 weeks following the date of the incident whilst unfit for duty, excluding the first 7 days
£250 unrecovered Criminal Court Compensation ( following assault) up to a maximum of £250. Payable provided compensation has not been received within 6 months from the date of the award.
(Claims under the accident insurance should be notified as soon as reasonably possible of the date of the occurrence causing the disability of an insured person).

ACCIDENT INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS
Members contemplating an unusual sport or activity which may come within the usual accident insurance exclusions should contact insurance manager for advice.
PREMIUM: £10.00 per month by deduction from pay
ELIGIBILITY: All members of the Metropolitan and City of London Police Forces who are subscribers to the Police Federation voluntary funds or officers of these Forces above the rank of Chief Inspector.

ELIGIBILITY: Spouses/Partners of members of the Metropolitan and City of London Police Forces.

Regulation 28 Insurance is available courtesy of the Met Constables Branch Board to assist you if you are long term sick or injured. The insurance will provide some financial protection if your pay is reduced through illness or accident under Regulation 28.
We believe the level of cover is excellent especially in view of the low premium and will adequately replace an Inspectors lost income should he need to make a claim.
This insurance cover will provide some income without any medical or means testing requirement. Benefit is payable for a maximum of 52 weeks, the first 26 weeks at the half pay benefit level and a further 26 weeks at the higher no pay level. Payment ceases when you return to work.
This insurance policy provides:
• £200 per week for up to six months whilst on half pay.
• £400 per week for up to six months whilst on no pay.
• No Medical
• No Means Test
• No Hassle
The premium is
£5.04 per month deducted from your pay.

Travel Insurance
Once again through the Met Constables’ Branch Board we are able to offer the Inspecting ranks excellent travel insurance for subscribing members, their spouses or partners and their children (if aged 22 or under and not in full-time employment but residing with them).
The insurance provides generous cover for:

• Cancellation or curtailment

• Baggage & personal effects
• Travel delay
• Mugging
• Winter sports cover
• Hospital confinement
• Personal liability
• Loss of deposit
• Missed departure
• Catastrophe
The policy covers any number of trips up to 30 days’ duration, worldwide, although winter sports are restricted to a maximum of 17 days duration. Extended periods of cover can be arranged for a small additional premium.
