Geoff joined the Metropolitan Police in 1979 and has served on T, B, F and V districts mainly in uniform operational roles. He performed a wide variety of roles in all three ranks including managing reliefs, sectors, Level II public order etc. He first became a Federation Representative as an Inspector in 2000. He was elected to the IBB executive in 2005 and was elected Chairman in 2007. He leads on the policing sub-committee and is also on the promotion and training sub-committee. Outside of work he enjoys cycling and has been commuting to work by bike for nearly 20 years. He also enjoys clay pigeon shooting. At this years conference Geoff was elected to become the second Inspector member for 8 Region on the Joint Central Committee of the National Police Federation.
