As Chairman David joined the Metropolitan Police in 1977 serving as a uniform operational Constable, Sergeant and Inspector. He first became a Federation Representative as an Inspector in 1993, was elected as Vice Chairman of the Inspectors' Branch Board in 1998 and to Chairman in May 2000. He was also elected as the Region 8 Inspectors' representative on the National Joint Central Committee in May 2000. He was elected Deputy Treasurer of the Joint Central Committee in 2004 taking up that post in September2004 and elected Treasurer in May 2008. David also represents the Federation on the Home Office Science and Technology Strategy Group. He remained as our Chairman until January of 2007. | |
